We purchased a warranty through Darvin Furniture when we purchased our new leather couch set.

But, really, all of these reviews with only 1 star? That kind of speaks for itself without me saying a word. Sorry to all of the people that have to work for a company with no morals.

I purchased a bonded leather recliner in 2012, and noticed that it had begun to peel and crack around the headrest in 2017. When I contacted UltraShield to place a claim, they stated that since the specific location that I purchased my recliner from had gone out of business, that the best they could do for me was offer me a prorated refund of the remaining time left on my 10 year warranty. They told me that they couldn't contact another branch location of the store I bought it at (even though I spoke to a store manager and he said he would be happy to help with my claim) because the claim had to be disputed with the actual store, and that they could not contact the manufacturer of the recliner because they are a third party company and don't deal directly with the manufacturer. They were extremely unhelpful on the phone and refused to offer me any other options other than a prorated refund. THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM! They took the money that I paid for the warranty, and when they saw that my recliner would cost more to fix than to pay out a pro-rated refund they kept five years of my warranty cost and refunded me a measly $40. Now I am stuck with a piece of garbage recliner and $40 to apply to either fixing the recliner on my own or applying it to a new recliner--this recliner cost $600 not including the warranty on top of it! DO NOT EVER BUY ANY FURNITURE IF ULTRASHIELD IS THE WARRANTY PROVIDER!!!! This is not my first bad experience with this company. But it will be my last. THEY ARE AWFUL TO WORK WITH AND STOLE MY MONEY!

After a number of years we called in to use the service. Instead of servicing our product we received the following.

It took one month to get someone to call me regarding a stain I had on my Lazy Boy. I left approximately 5-6 voicemails with no luck until one day someone decided to answer. After reporting the stain 30 days later to an actual representative it took another two weeks for the tech to come onsite. The tech did a great job. I called back regarding another incident and they immediately stated this is repetitive and this would be my last cleaning because it was twice within 60 days. Well actually it was twice within 90 days because you didn't respond to my first 5 calls and it took 6 weeks to get resolution. In their warranty they don't state the time periods to define repetitive, this appears to be on purpose. The salesman at Lazy Boy stated they would come out as many times as needed. Listen to the other reviews and come to your own conclusion. I will be filing a report with the BBB as well. Shady company that I do not recommend doing business with. I am actually in the process of purchasing another recliner and will sure to give Lazy Boy my opinion of this company. They need to find another one to sell services from.

Very upset with the service from this company. It seems to be a shell of a promise from the people who sell their warranty. I have had two claims denied since working with them. I will not consider purchasing a warranty from them again and will steer other people away from their services until I hear back from them on how these issues will be addressed.

"I did process this claim through the system and it is letting me know that Ultra Shield is going to be moving on with a pro rated refund of the warranty. You will be receiving a check in the mail in the next 60-90 days for the amount of $165.08. Under the policy it is Ultra Shields sole option to do a repair, replacement or a pro rated refund. Also if the store you have purchased from no longer carries Ultra Shield as a supplier then Ultra Shield will move on with a pro rated refund of the warranty. "

I have to admit that I saw all the negative reviews for Ultra Shield and was sick that I dropped a pen on my new leather couch... we did have to try a couple things to fix it but finally today we got a new cushion on our couch and it looks PERFECT again!!! The customer service rep, Diana Perkins was wonderful to deal with and the service technician they sent, Colton, worked quickly and efficiently and cleaned up after he was done! I am SO HAPPY we got the warranty and it was well worth the money!!!!
