The exercise machines, lap pool, outdoor pool, and a gym & dressing rooms are neat.

A few things have changed since the city took over the "Y".

Disappointed not disliked. There's a difference. When an individual first enters the building everything appears well maintained. The day I was there the staff was very cordial.

Actually they would have been better served in the lap pool which was empty at the time. There were at least 15 adults accompanying the children & they stood around the pool watching the children. All were wearing outdoor clothing & shoes. One man lit up a cigarette but finally walked out because one of the parents mentioned the rules to him.

The Handicapped pool is now open to everyone meaning other young children that aren't handicapped are able to use the Handicapped heated pool.

If the city spent the money to buy it, then whoever is in charge needs to spend some quality time there to see what changes would improve the quality of the experience of those who attend or might attend under different circumstances.

All the young children are going to choose a heated pool. I am aware there are classes I could attend but I have health issues & I have to swim at my own pace. Thats not possible when the pool is full of young children running around. It isn't worth the 30 minute drive to the S.F.F. from my home if there's no room for me in the pool. The Center has a lot of potential but some issues need to be addressed and rules inforced.

At one time Physical Therapy was offered at the pool but that has stopped. The building has a lot of potential. Lots of classes for High School students could be offered. Classes after school could be offered to students of all ages in the Arts, painting, sewing, crafts, etc.

Nice gym and basketball court

When the "Y" had ownership the Handicapped pool was strictly for the Handicapped. It was cleaner and better maintained. The only area I felt was not being properly taken care of was the Handicapped Pool, the Hot Tub, & the Saunas.

The problem was the pool for the Handicapped had become an "Open Swim" area, meaning anyone could swim in the pool. Only a few of us qualified as Handicapped. There was a woman with a handicapped child, myself & one other individual. Because the rules have changed & the Handicapped pool is now open to everyone the day we were there with at least 15 young children, none were handicapped, all were running and jumping in the pool. They were loud & throwing things.

I have Epilepsy so swimming was impossible. If I had a seizure there's no way I could have been spotted. There was one lifeguard for 2 pools, a Hot Tub & 2 Saunas. The young children were not supposed to go in the Hot Tub or the Sauna but they were running in and out, opening and shutting the doors. The small children were running in and out of the saunas & the Hot Tub, even though the rules clearly stated, no children were allowed in those areas. The Jacuzzi did not look clean or well maintained at all.
